Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh and infielder Josh Naylor underwent surgery Saturday and are expected to be fully recovered before spring training, the team announced Monday.
Raleigh, 29, had a debridement procedure on his left shoulder, while the 29-year-old Naylor underwent surgery on his right wrist.
Following a historic 2025 season in which he hit a major league-leading 60 home runs, finished second in American League MVP voting and earned his first All-Star nod, Raleigh’s production declined in 2026. In 126 games, he batted just .182 with 23 home runs and 69 RBIs. A right oblique strain sidelined him for a month in his first stint on the injured list.
In parts of six seasons, all with the Mariners, Raleigh is a .218 hitter with 176 homers and 445 RBIs in 749 games.
Naylor hit .261 with 10 home runs, 30 stolen bases and 57 RBIs in 152 games in 2026, his first full season with the Mariners.
A first-round pick (No. 12 overall) of the Miami Marlins in 2015, Naylor is a .268 hitter with 114 home runs, 85 stolen bases and 492 RBIs in 897 games with the San Diego Padres (2019-20), Cleveland Guardians (2020-24), Arizona Diamondbacks (2025) and Mariners (2025-present). Naylor was an All-Star in 2024, when he set career highs with 31 home runs and 108 RBIs while batting .243.
