Left-handed reliever Gregory Soto has reached an agreement with the Pittsburgh Pirates on a one-year, $7.75 million contract, ESPN reported on Tuesday.
Soto, 30, finished with a 1-5 record, one save, a 4.18 ERA, 24 walks and 70 strikeouts in 60 1/3 innings over 70 relief appearances in 2025 for the Baltimore Orioles (45 games) and New York Mets (25).
The Orioles traded him to the Mets on July 25 for two minor league pitchers, right-handers Wellington Aracena and Cameron Foster.
An All-Star in 2021 and 2022 with the Detroit Tigers, Soto became a free agent on Nov. 2.
Soto has a career record of 15-34 with 56 saves, a 4.26 ERA, 193 walks and 410 strikeouts in 378 1/3 innings over 391 games (seven starts) with the Tigers (2019-22), Philadelphia Phillies (2023-24), Orioles (2024-25) and Mets (2025).
