New York Knicks forward OG Anunoby is expected to miss at least two weeks due to a left hamstring injury, multiple media outlets reported on Sunday.
Anunoby, 28, strained his injury during the first quarter of the Knicks’ 140-132 home win over the Miami Heat on Friday night.
Anunoby, who has started all 12 games for the Knicks, ranks third on the squad with 15.8 points per game. He shares the team lead in 3-pointers (31) and stands second in steals (1.9 per game), third in 3-point accuracy (39.2%) and fourth in rebounds (5.6 per game).
If the eighth-year pro requires exactly two weeks to heal, then he will miss all five games of the Knicks’ upcoming road trip as well as a home game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Black Friday.
Landry Shamet stepped up in Anunoby’s stead on Friday and delivered a career-best 36 points in a season-high 37 minutes. The eighth-year pro drilled 6 of 12 3-point attempts along the way.
